Who Are We?
Kema Egolum – Technical Director/Founder
As a graduate of Howard University 2007, Kema is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery. He landed on the Hilltop in Fall of 2003 hailing from Jamaica and has been active on campus ever since. From planning events, participating in fashion shows, playing a role in student activities to being an ambassador helping Howard raise funds…you name it he has done it all. It is fair to say that Kema likes being a part of the Howard Community, so it is not a surprise that his love gave birth to HilltopBuzz.com, a project which he promises will only grow larger as time progresses.
Chelsea Young – Gospel Editor
Chelsea is no stranger to the Howard University Community. Since 2001, she has served Howard in multiple capacities including: College of Arts and Sciences Class Representative, Secretary and Student Member of the Recruitment and Retention Committee, Bison Billiards, and The Howard Gospel and University Choir…just to name a few. She is currently the Project Coordinator for The B Factor, an artist management and consultation firm out of Baltimore , MD.
Erica Renee’ Williams - Lifestyle Editor
A 2006 graduate of Howard University, Erica holds a B.A. in Journalism. A former Life & Style Editor for Howard University’s student newspaper, The Hilltop, she has over eight years of experience in communications. She has freelanced for various publications and interviewed many well known celebrity figures ranging from Oscar Nominee Tarajhi P. Henson and Don Cheadle to entertainers Monica and Nas, to name a few. Besides writing, she has also dabbled in Public Relations gaining her clients both local and national exposure in major media outlets including XM Satellite Radio, XXL Magazine, The Source, and Essence Magazine.
Besides working with The Hilltop Buzz, Erica is currently working on an online blogzine for women set to launch summer 2009 as well as her nonprofit organization, My Girls & Me, Inc.
